SharePortals provides a mechanism to import data for a particular record type. The data can be supplied in Excel or CSV.

How to import records from a spreadsheet

1. In any record list view locate the Data drop-down and select Import from | Excel

2. Use the Chose File button to browse your local file structure and select a suitably formatted data file. The example below uses a file called ‘Contact Import 8000.csv’.

3. Click Next.

4. The next view presents each data column found in the data source and allows you to map a record field to each of those columns. Toggle Include first row in Import to indicate if your data file has a header column or not.

5. Click Import when done. A small import progress card appears in the lower right-hand corner of your browser.
