To create a new dashboard select ‘New Dashboard’ in the top right-hand corner of the window. Complete all required fields and press ‘Save and Edit’.
Note: Standard users can only create Personal Dashboards!
An empty dashboard with 5 empty placeholders will appear, as shown below. Click on the cog to add a new item into this placeholder:
Add Welcome:
Adds a generic clock widget
Add List:
This adds a widget to show a list of SharePortals records. The example below will insert a list of Contact records, filtered and structured as configured in the ‘My Active Contacts’ view.
Add Tasks:
This adds a collection of SharePortal tasks assigned to you.
Add Calendar:
Adds a list of your current and future Outlook calendar entries.
Add Content:
Allows you to display external, web-based content. Please bear in mind that for security reasons many 3rd party web pages and services will not render in a frame like this.
Add Chart:
Allows you to add an existing chart to the dashboard. Creating charts is described here.
